CAN YOU DO A CEILIDH SET?

Our extremely popular Ceilidh set includes up to 40 minutes of pre recorded traditional Scottish music performed by The Scott Harvey Band, Jim McLeod & The Gordon Pattullo’s Ceilidh Band. We professionally call all the dances providing full live instructions and guidance on the night. Dances include Strip The Willow (Orcadian style), Gay Gordons, Dashing White Seargent and Canadian Barn Dance. The Carbon Copy Ceilidh is perfect for both experienced and inexperienced participants of all ages and nationalities and you will participate! Our Ceilidh set is optional and there is no additional charge for this.

WILL YOU LEARN MY FIRST DANCE?

Yes of course! As part of our service we will learn just about any song you wish for your first dance. As long as it’s ‘musically’/technically possible. We require at least three month’s notice as this will give us time to organise and learn it for you.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC WILL YOU PLAY ON THE NIGHT?

We will play a hand picked selection of the biggest and best Pop, Rock, Indie, Dance, Funk, Soul, Blues, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Reggae, Folk and Country floor fillers from the 50's, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 00’s up to the present day. Check out our Set List for full details.

CAN I CHOOSE THE SONGS FROM YOUR SET LIST?

We select the songs we play on the night based on our experience of what songs we feel work best. If you have any specific requests on songs from our set list just let us know beforehand and we will try and accommodate as many requests as we can.

CAN YOU LEARN SONG REQUESTS BEFORE THE EVENT?

As well as performing a varied selection of songs from our set list we can learn a first dance song of your choice (where musically possible). If you have any additional requests please get in touch with us at least 3 months before your event and we will let you know if it is possible to perform live or not. Any songs we cannot perform live we can provide the original recorded version for you through our sound system.

WHAT TYPE OF VENUES WILL YOU PLAY?

We will perform at a wide variety of venues from pubs & village halls to large country estates, theatres, halls, hotel function rooms. We will also perform in marquees or outdoors, under cover, if the weather allows it. No venue is too big or too small!

WHAT ARE YOUR STANDARD PERFORMANCE TIMES?

Our performance time is contracted between 8pm and Midnight.

WHAT IF MY TIMINGS CHANGE AFTER I HAVE BOOKED YOU?

Our performance time is contracted between 8pm and midnight but we are always happy to discuss any variations on timings and we will try to accommodate where possible as long as agreed beforehand. In our experience of playing weddings for over 10 years, venues always naturally run behind schedule on wedding days. It is worth baring this in mind before arranging early start times for the band as this may require an additional cost and if the venue runs behind the band won't be able to start earlier anyway.

WHEN WILL YOU ARRIVE AT THE VENUE?

We contact all venues in advance to arrange the best times for our arrival and access to the performance area. Many venues we have played multiple times and we factor in our travel time to make sure we arrive within at least an hour and a half before performance time.

​

HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU NEED TO SET UP?

From the time we have access to the performance area we will take no longer than 1 hour to set up in any size or type of venue.

​

IS ALL EQUIPMENT (E.G PA / LIGHTING) INCLUDED IN THE QUOTE?

Yes, all of our equipment is included in your quote. All applicable electrical items that we use have the relevant safety certificates and are maintained regularly. We are also fully covered for up to £1,000,000 worth of public liability insurance. (documentation available on request)

WERE ARE YOU BASED AND HOW FAR WILL YOU TRAVEL?

We are based in Glasgow and will travel anywhere!

​

DO YOU PLAY MUSIC DURING YOUR BREAK?

Yes we provide all background music during the evening. Alternatively you can provide us with an iPod / phone playlist of your own (please note we cannot play CD’s)

HOW MUCH DO YOU COST?

Price is dependent on location and date. Please contact us via the ‘Get Quote’ section of this website for a quote (you may be pleasantly surprised!).

CAN I PROVISIONALLY BOOK THE BAND?

Your date is only secured once we receive a small deposit from you. Due to high demand we are unable to provisionally book dates without a deposit.

​

HOW MUCH SPACE DO YOU NEED?

We can fit in almost anywhere. however, we require approximately a minimum of 5 x 4 metres. (worried about the size of your venue? please feel free to get in touch and we can contact/visit your venue to ensure theres enough room for us.)

WILL I ALSO NEED TO HIRE A DJ?

Carbon Copy play as live band until Midnight at the latest and are unable to provide any music after this time. Many venues are able to provide music after midnight if they are open until 1am. It is worth asking the venue if they can provide this if you require it. 

​

WILL THE BAND NEED A PA OR LIGHTING?

We supply our own PA system. We also supply a dedicated lighting rig.

​

HOW LOUD ARE YOU?

As a rock/party band with live acoustic drums we are typically around 80 - 100db. If you need us to play quieter or indeed louder, we will try and accommodate this as far as possible.

WHAT HAPPENS IF ONE OF THE BAND MEMBERS FALLS ILL / IS ON HOLIDAY ETC?

This will not affect your booking: in the event of a band member being unavailable we have a pool of professional musicians who we work with regularly who can step in.
